Thank you for listening to The Radiant Mission podcast! We are on a mission to encourage and inspire you on your walk with Christ and as you journey through life.

In Episode 25 we have a different type of episode for you: a life update! We’re diving into the realness of real life and sharing the raw details about homesteading, de-cluttering, parenthood, and more. Plus, we have a HUGE announcement to share!

In This Episode on The Realness of Real Life:

Diving into the realness of real life.

  • Rachel’s move from the country back to the city.Rebecca’s urge to purge and de-clutter extra junk. There are a lot of de-cluttering challenges out there. 30-day challenges with 15-20 minutes per day in different rooms and areas of the house to encourage daily de-cluttering.We share our love for the squatty potty.
  • The nitty gritty of homesteading life and how important it is to be prepared for it.
    • The importance of community when it comes to homesteading.
    • There was a tradeoff for Rachel’s family when moving to the country to homestead: her husband had to travel to work for hours each day while she was also experiencing health issues. Living outside of society meant separation from a lot of the comforts of life she was used to.
    • When you grow up in traditional society, we can become sensitive to things like butchering farm animals. It’s something that we are programmed to be uncomfortable with, where those that grow up on farms have the opposite experience (kind of like our society when it comes to physiological birth!).
    • Being thrown into full time farm life can be a shock, but we can all learn new skills piece by piece. We can learn to garden, or raise chickens, for example.

Making the choice to make difficult decisions.

  • The Lord is our guide, but ultimately, we need to make the choice to move (whether literally or figuratively).
    • Too often we choose to remain in a situation or scenario where we are suffering. Perhaps the alternative is too intimidating or we feel we haven’t received an answer from God.
    • As Christians, we’ll say “well, let me wait for the Lord to tell me.” But we have to put ourselves out there and make the change.
    • Yahweh is a good and loving Father; He doesn’t want us to suffer.
    • At the end of the day, we make the decisions for our lives.

Diving into motherhood.

  • Story time about what baby Ben has been up to.
    • The joys of watching our kids grow.
    • PLUS, a big surprise announcement!

Bible Verses Mentioned in The Realness of Real Life:

Matthew 6:34

“Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
