Thank you for listening to The Radiant Mission podcast! We are on a mission to encourage and inspire you on your walk with Christ and as you journey through life.

In Episode 47 we dive into what it means to partner with God in our health and healing. We are joined by special guest, Dr. Vaughn. He is a traditional naturopath and iridologist, focused on helping people discover the root cause of their chronic illness. Dr. Vaughn looks at health and the human body from a design perspective, helping people to understand the links between God, creation, health, sickness, and disease.

In This Episode on Partnering with God in Our Health & Healing:

When we are born again, we become in communion with the Lord.

For Dr. Vaughn, being born again led to a lot of questions about our bodies and how they function. The journey of our lives is supposed to be in communion with God.

In the Old Testament there were tabernacles and they were a place to encounter God. Now, post-New Testament, Jesus bridged the gap. Jesus lives inside of man through the blood of Jesus.

The temple of God, our bodies, is home to the living God. Why do we not think our health and what happens to our bodies and what’s happening to them matters? Or if something isn’t going well, we think there is a problem or He made a mistake or there’s a problem with His design?

Dr. Vaughn’s mission is to bridge the gap. To be a bridge to help people understand God, creation, and our bodies.

We have to be in partnership with God in every aspect of our life.

How do we partner with God? God created a garden and said it was good. We have everything we need for good health—it’s found it nature, in creation. It’s found in sunshine and the ocean. Additionally, it’s found in the earth with vegetables and herbs. It seems like it should be common sense, but we’ve slipped into such a Babylonian culture that we’re relying on so many things that are NOT God and choose creation.

Not only have we separated ourselves from God’s natural creation, but we actually often ridicule it. Or, we’re told it’s bad for us (like the sun). But there’s a war going on over who’s right. And which way is better? The way of man or the way of God? Partnering with God is returning to the ancient path of trusting God. It’s about having faith in God.

Trusting God and having faith in Him isn’t just praying for the miracle. It’s embracing the good foods that He gave us. It’s embracing and learning that the sun is a good thing and it’s a tool for our health. In fact, it’s crucial to human health.

We need to partner with God and creation or we will not find life because He is the source of life.

What is important to understand about God’s design for food and medicine versus mans?

It’s interesting how we question things like herbs, which were created by God and grow from the earth. Yet, we don’t spend enough time questioning the medical system, which is made up of humans who have created synthetic drugs.

Nature cannot be patented. In order to patent something and make money off of it, it needs to be synthesized. That’s why everything that’s a man-made pharmaceutical drug has a list of side effects.

When the Rockefeller’s created their “medicine” using coal-tar and petroleum-based medicine for profit, they said these medications have to pack a punch. People have to know that it’s doing something in their body. So here you have this manmade, synthetic thing where you’re mimicking something natural that packs a “punch.” At the same time, it needed to have side effects. The first reason is so it could pack that punch. The second reason is they knew if there were side effects, it would allow them to prescribe other medications to deal with those side effects. Therefore, the whole thing was set up like a business from the very beginning.

This is the deception of the modern medical industry that a lot of people don’t understand. The enemy gets his foot in the door and takes a little bit of truth—like we need medicine and God gave us things that are medicine.

All of the sudden it’s twisted and we’re deceived into thinking that there’s a better way. That there’s a better way besides God. There’s a better way than what God originally intended.

But synthetic is a “replica” of what nature does to heal. What does evil do? And what does the demonic do? The enemy is the mimicker. Satan has nothing original of his own. Thus all he can do is twist and manipulate God’s creation. And that’s what the pharmaceutical industry is. It’s a manipulation of something natural or something out of the earth, and it causes harm and side effects to the human body.

There is no question that some medications have saved lives. However, there is a better way. Every herb was created by God for a purpose. We’ve learned the purposes of those herbs by studying them and using them for thousands of years. It’s an alignment. Herbs work with the body. And herbs are created by God and put on this earth for the service of man. Specifically, David wrote this in the Psalms. In Psalm 104:14 he wrote, “He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.” They were designed for us.

Therefore, man-made things were not created and designed for the service of man. They were created to have side effects, pack a punch, and cause other problems. They are not going to be as understood by the body because when you mess with chemistry, you’re forcing an action.

God is trying to heal us. Symptoms are an indicator of something going on and exist for a reason. It’s our body communicating something. It could be a toxin. It could be trying to get mucus out or other illness.

Unfortunately, we don’t allow the natural processes to happen because we don’t understand partnering with God in our health.

We believe symptoms are bad and we have to suppress them and we have to stop them using man-made drugs which pushes the sickness and disease deeper into the body that leads to chronic illness later in life.

For instance, things like cysts and tumors are actually the brilliance of God’s design. It is brilliant that He takes toxins and poisons and things that would hurt the body and congregates them in one small tumor or lump to protect the body from further harm. God is a good designer!

It’s important that we understand that the body is always working for us. And we have to partner in helping the body heal, cleanse, detoxify. Thus, the same way the tumor formed; it will disappear.

There’s no such thing as an incurable disease, only incurable people.

Our choices, our sin, the things we do that aren’t in alignment with God’s creation and design is what leads to sickness, disease, and degeneration. The healing from God is always available if we’re partnering with His design.

Are we purifying and separating ourselves from this world? Are we being the Christians that the Bible calls us to be? How much deeper of a spiritual life could we live if we truly sanctified ourselves form the worldly pleasures of this world?
