The broken healthcare system is failing Americans. We are sicker than ever, despite having more doctors, more medications, and more medical technology than at any other time in history. Chronic disease is rising, children are struggling with health issues at alarming rates, and families are drowning in prescriptions that only mask symptoms. This crisis begs a bigger question: how do we find true healing? As believers, we must return to God’s design for the body and trust Him above all else.
The Reality of a Broken Healthcare System
When we step back and look honestly, it becomes clear that the healthcare system is not designed to make us well. Instead, it manages disease. Prescriptions provide temporary relief but rarely fix the root cause. Surgeries and procedures often lead to more complications. And the food and pharmaceutical industries profit from keeping people dependent.
The broken healthcare system thrives when people stay sick, tired, and desperate for answers. That reality is sobering—but it also opens the door to something greater: God’s plan for health and healing.
My Journey Through Illness and Discovery
Not long ago, I learned that I had active Epstein Barr virus. Suddenly, the fatigue, inflammation, and unexplained weight gain made sense. For years, I followed what seemed “normal” advice—eat the Standard American Diet, rely on doctors, take over-the-counter medications. But nothing worked.
Everything changed when I started digging into how God actually designed my body. I focused on nourishing foods, detoxing from chemicals, and supporting my immune system. Slowly, my body healed. I lost nearly 30 pounds—not through a fad diet, but through restoration.
My story is not unique. Many people find healing when they step outside the broken healthcare system and return to God’s wisdom.
God’s Design for the Body
Psalm 139 reminds us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” God created every system in our body with a purpose. He gave us:
- An immune system to fight infection.
- Organs of detox like the liver, kidneys, and skin.
- Natural rhythms of sleep and repair.
When we live according to His design, the body functions beautifully. But when we fill it with processed food, toxic chemicals, and constant stress, we break down the systems He gave us.
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 calls our bodies temples of the Holy Spirit. Stewardship of health is not optional—it’s an act of obedience.
Why the System Keeps Us Sick
It’s not hard to see why so many Americans are sick. Our society is built on:
- Pharmaceutical dependency. Drugs manage symptoms but don’t cure.
- Toxic food supply. Processed, chemically engineered products replace real nourishment.
- Profit over people. Healthcare and food companies make money when we stay unhealthy.
This is why the broken healthcare system can never lead to true healing. Healing comes when we reject the world’s patterns and align ourselves with God’s truth.
Why True Healing Starts with God
John 8:32 says, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” That freedom applies not only to our souls, but also to our bodies. Real healing begins when we place our faith in God, seek His wisdom, and care for our bodies the way He intended.
As we begin this series, we’ll be diving deeper into specific health topics:
- The dangers of Tylenol and why it is not “safe.”
- The toxins hidden in our food and how they impact children.
- What vaccines really contain and why parents must research carefully.
- The role of sleep, stress, and even spiritual warfare in health.
Reflection Questions
As you consider today’s episode, ask yourself:
- Have I accepted sickness as “normal” because the healthcare system told me so?
- Do I view my body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, worthy of care and protection?
- What steps can I take to move away from dependency on a broken system and toward God’s design?
Conclusion
The broken healthcare system is not where we find hope. True healing starts with God, who designed us with care, purpose, and resilience. By seeking Him and making intentional choices, we can step into freedom and health that the world cannot provide.
